Neil Jordan was highly esteemed Heidelberg CC Player and was the brother of Bruce Jordan. Neil commenced his cricket with the club in the 1950’s and played a record five decades with the club. In July 2004 aged 56 Neil traveled to Tasmania with his wife Joy to visit their daughter and both tragically lost their lives in a car accident through no fault of their own. Following Neil’s passing the club struck an award in Neil’s honour for the senior player who accrued the most points based on batting bowling and fielding across all grades.
It is possible for a player to win both the Club Champion and Neil Jordan Memorial Trophy in the same year.
