Senior Coach, originally appointed in 2017, has lead the 1st XI to 4 Grand Finals in 6 years, including 2 premierships.
Senior Mens Team
The Heidelberg Cricket Club prides itself on offering an inclusive, friendly environment with players of all ages and abilities welcome.
The club competes in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association (DVCA) and in 2021/22, we fielded four senior XIs: our First XI play in Barclay Shield, whilst we also field teams in B Grade, F Grade, and G5 Grade.
The G5 team exists purely to offer our juniors the opportunity to play senior cricket, particularly with the establishment of our father/son team which has been successful in providing our future stars with a pathway to improve their cricket and successfully integrate into the senior program.
The Senior Mens team trains at Warringal Park on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5-30pm.
Tuesdays are typically Net sessions, whilst Thursdays are more likely to involve center wicket practice.
Thursday training sessions are followed by Dinner in the clubhouse, with team selection announcements made at approx 8.00pm
Junior players are also welcome for dinner at the clubhouse, and it is this environment that encourages relationships to be built between the seniors and juniors with some juniors being named in the Senior teams from week to week, giving them valuable experience in senior cricket.
